first you add 3 to both sides. so you get x over 5 equals 10 then multiple both sides by 5 to get x=50
[tex] \frac{x}{5} - 3 = 7[/tex]
[tex] + 3 = + 3[/tex]
[tex] \frac{x}{5} = 10[/tex]
[tex] \times 5 = \times 5[/tex]
[tex]x = 50[/tex]
